New In Die Tapping Process

This part, designed and manufactured for washing machines is an integral part of the lid switch sensor mechanism. The part is produced from type 430 stainless steel and is processed from raw wire to finished part in one multi-operation German Burger machine.
The continuous coil wire is fed into the machine where the part blank is developed. Confined within the die, flats are swaged on the part, drilled and tapped. The part is then transferred from the press die to the forming tool where it is formed and chamfered, all in a matter of seconds.
The end result a finished part, subjected to 6 operations and never touched by hand.
